Media Technology

November 12th, 2008 · 66 Comments · Uncategorized

Special thanks to Trevor Kasal and Philip from the Media Technology department for visiting our classes yesterday and showing us what they do. Hopefully it sparked interest in some of you to take technology classes in high school.

The Career and Technology Education Department (CTE) not only offers Media Tech classes but also classes in Cosmotology, Auto Tech, Computer Science, Robotics, Culinary Arts, and more. Currently, these classes are held at Shannon. If you want to take these classes, you take a bus from your high school to attend. But, a brand new center is being built just off of Mid-Cities in North Richland Hills.

What did you think about yesterday’s guest speaker? Is Media Technology something you would like to try? What other CTE programs would like to take in high school?

Welcome!

November 7th, 2007 · 7 Comments · Uncategorized

Welcome to Mrs. Ashlock’s Technology class! Technology is more than just about using the computer. It is about learning to solve problems and work in teams. Students will learn the most this year by showing initiative and learning to research answers when presented with challenges. By the end of the year, each student will not only be more knowledgeable about the computer but will also feel a sense of accomplishment as they challenged themselves and others through solving problems.

EXTRA POINTS!! Leave your name and a comment responding to the following question:

What is one thing you would like to learn how to do in technology class this year?
